The Caribbean Union of Teachers (CUT) is an organization started on August 21, 1935, to bring together teaching unions from different countries. Their aim is to intensify teaching efforts in the Caribbean and ensure that teachers are treated right, and their working conditions are according to standards.

Member Countries of the CUT

The CUT consists of more than 20 member countries as outlined in the list below:

The Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Grenada, Bermuda, Anguilla, Dominica, Guyana, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Nevis, St. Kitts, Montserrat, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, Suriname, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago.

Activities of the Caribbean Union of Teachers

The CUT undertakes training programs and workshops to help teachers improve the delivery and quality of their service. It also promotes development in its members through leadership training and learning of computer.

Games are an excellent way of bonding and promoting good relationships. The CUT hosts Biannual Championships that bring together students and teachers from member countries. The sporting events promote unity and show appreciation of talent. Winners get awarded amazing prizes, and they are given opportunities to improve their talents.

Several organizations work together with CUT to help it achieve its goals. Among these organizations include:
